An interview with Nicole Hause

Why did you feel the need to build Loop Hardware in the first place, what was missing that you couldn’t ignore?

We really just built it out of fun and friendship. It’s turned out to be more eye-opening than we thought. Seemed to be a space missing from the community. It fills a space that’s run by female pro skaters who have been in the industry long enough to know how to do things their way and create a company that embraces our side of the story.

 

As three founders with different perspectives, how do you make decisions when you don’t all agree?

Majority rules! And I think letting go of control and perfectionism has been important, we all have to learn that in our own different ways.

 

Loop Hardware was built despite better advice, what was the advice you ignored, and why did you trust your gut instead?

We literally just did this as a fun idea for us to own something that brings all our homies together to skate and I guess it turned into a “real” company..

 

What kind of products can we find and what makes them different from the other brands?

T-shirts designed by our Co-founder and Art Director, Dayana Young, her artwork is amazing and so sick to see her have a space to create freely. There’s no major corporations opinions just ours. We also have hardware.

Each of us picked a colorway. We hand pack everything into test tubes that a lot of us re-use as doob tubes. We’re not encouraging smoking, but if you’re already doing it now you have somewhere to put your pre rolls or half finished smokes. it can be re-used however you want!

We are just inheritently different because of who we are as people and how we make decisions. This is for us, by us.
